Can you help us improve lives across Bedfordshire through sport, exercise and education?

TRUSTEE RECRUITMENT

We are looking to strengthen our Board of Trustees across two specific areas, and are now recruiting two new trustees who can help steer our charity through the next phase of development.

Blues Foundation works across Bedfordshire and neighbouring areas, our mission is to inspire our community through the values of rugby to promote positive and informed lifestyle choices. As a charity we are driven by the impact that sport and physical activity can have on peoples’ lives. At Blues Foundation, we are passionate that we can harness the power of sport to transform the Bedfordshire community.

Using rugby’s core values, our focus is to enable the most vulnerable and disadvantaged to benefit from improved wellbeing, access to inclusive opportunities, and provide creative chances to develop skills in young people.

We feel this is an incredibly exciting time in our charity’s development, the platform and history of Bedford Blues has provided us with a unique opportunity to support the community in which we serve. Accountable for the charity, our Board of Trustees contribute to the Foundation's development utilising their professional and personal knowledge and experience.

Blues Foundation are looking to strengthen our Board of Trustees with expertise in the following areas:

Education and Safeguarding:

We are seeking knowledge and expertise from the education sector to support our work engaging disadvantaged and vulnerable young people. As the ‘education and safeguarding champion’ on our Board of Trustees, you would take an active role in steering our offer for young people. You will also lead our safeguarding responsibilities and ensure we are operationally proficient in this area helping Foundation colleagues meet all standards and statutory requirements.

Human Resources:

As a charity our staff and team numbers have increased significantly throughout our first four years of operation. With this comes a focus on developing our people and supporting the team grow. With this in mind, we are looking for a trustee with experience and passion for developing people to champion and provide oversight of the charity's HR and organisation development.
