Successful Charity Spinathon 2025

Blues Foundation are delighted to announce that £4,812 was raised at Club Towers’ recent ‘Charity Spinathon’ securing vital fundraising for two worthwhile Bedfordshire causes.

Announced back in 2024, both Blues Foundation and Primrose Car Service were chosen as Charities of the Year for Club Towers with the spinathon the latest in a long line of fundraising activation.

Speaking after the event, Head of Blues Foundation, Tom Harwood said: “We are incredibly grateful for Club Towers members’ support, and I know both charities will be able to support local people through our services. The funds will directly support young people from Bedford and inspire them to use sport in a positive way.”

Over 50 members of Club Towers plus supporters and staff from both charities took part across a five-hour time slot, with 12 incredible individuals taking part in every available session – including Blues Foundation Trustee, Ross McKinley.

Each member donated £20 for each class they rode, with some members also asking friends and family for sponsorship to add to the total raised.

Katy Thomas, fitness manager at Club Towers and one of the organisers for the event commented: “This is our fifth spinathon and every time it just gets better and better. The enthusiasm and energy our members bring along with their amazing costumes really helps everyone keep going.

“Having representatives from the charities really helped remind us of what we are doing it for. We are ecstatic to have raised so much. Thank you to everyone involved.”

Bedford Blues Media Manager, Ryan Robinson – who also took part on the day – added: “It’s always incredibly fulfilling to help Blues Foundation in their fundraising efforts to ensure the continuation and development of key activation projects supporting people in our community.

“An incredibly heartwarming day seeing everyone supporting two worthwhile causes. As someone who has seen first-hand the impact that can be achieved within Bedfordshire thanks to a fundraising total such as this, I’m excited to see again how much we can make a positive difference through the power of sport.”
