Can you help us improve lives across Bedfordshire through sport, exercise and education?

Trustee recruitment

Blues Foundation is the charitable arm of Bedford Blues Rugby Club. Working across Bedfordshire and neighbouring areas, our mission is to inspire our community through the values of rugby to promote positive and informed lifestyle choices.

As a charity we are driven by the impact sport and physical activity can have on peoples’ lives. At Blues Foundation, we are passionate that we can harness the power of sport to transform the Bedfordshire community.

The impact Covid-19 has had on lives in our area provides us with a unique opportunity to support the people who need it most. Using rugby’s core values, our focus is to enable the most vulnerable and disadvantaged to benefit from improved wellbeing, develop inclusive opportunities, and provide creative chances to enhance skills.

We feel this is an incredibly exciting time in our charity’s development, the platform and history of Bedford Blues has provided us with a unique opportunity to support the community in which we serve. Our Board of Trustees make a valued contribution bringing fresh perspectives and valued contributions from their professional and personal knowledge and experience.

Blues Foundation are looking to strengthen our Board of Trustees with expertise in the following areas:

Education - We are seeking knowledge and expertise in the education sector across a variety of levels to support our work targeting disadvantaged and vulnerable young people. An ‘education lead’ on our Board of Trustees would take an active role in steering our offer for young people which uses the power of sport and exercise to educate and develop soft skills, resilience and employability.

Inclusivity and diversity - Our work looks to engage people from all demographics of society, we want to build on our understanding of our community and are passionate about supporting our diverse county. An ‘inclusivity lead’ on the Board of Trustees would advocate for this area and ensure our work reflects our target audience.
