Claire Hawes joins as Projects Officer
Blues Foundation are delighted to announce that to coincide with the next stage of development of our charity, Claire Hawes has joined the team as Projects Officer and began her now role at the start of the month.
Claire’s role as Projects Officer is vitally important in the progression of our charity, and we are delighted to be able to welcome someone with as much experience within the charity and sports development sector as Claire.
Purpose of the Role
Claire will lead our delivery programmes ran by Blues Foundation including our flagship Tackle LIFE, INSPIRE and ABILITY Blues programmes. This will include working closely with our partner organisations and ensuring our projects can reach as many people as possible.
Claire will also play a key role within our fundraising initiatives, providing valuable support during events and campaigns to drive donations to our charity. So please say hello to Claire if you see her at Goldington Road or at some of our events.
Getting to know: Claire Hawes
A master’s degree graduate in Sport Development Management, Claire joins Blues Foundation with a wealth of knowledge and key experience following previous roles at Active Luton and Wycombe Wanderers Sports and Education Trust.
This has seen her work on a range of community projects targeted to some of the key demographic we have already, and want to continue to support, including women only physical activity, youth engagement for those at risk of offending/re-offending, disability sport and projects taking the promotion of positive physical and mental health.
Some of our already flagship projects, such as Tackle LIFE, ABILITY Blues and our INSPIRE programme target such demographics and we are excited by how we can continue offering our support – and reach even more people – across Bedfordshire in the coming weeks and months.
On joining Blues Foundation, Claire said: "I am really excited to be offered the opportunity to join Blues Foundation and build upon the fantastic work that is already being delivered. I'm passionate about all things sport development and look forward to using the power of sport and physical activity to make a difference across the wider Bedfordshire community."
