Train like a Blue! Online S&C Sessions for young people
Blues Foundation are delighted to announce an eight-week strength & conditioning programme aimed at exposing youngsters to what its like to be a professional rugby player.
Led by Bedford Blues’ new Strength & Conditioning Coach, Jim McLagan, these sessions have been designed to suit all levels of ability and targeted at those who may be considering rugby or sport as a potential job avenue, ages 14-19.
Split into a variety of gym and conditioning (running) workouts, sessions will contain a different theme each week, which Blues Foundation will share prior to the session via all social media platforms.
All sessions will be filmed at Goldington Road, home of Bedford Blues, however all activities and workouts can be completed at home, at a local park or wherever it is safe to practise social distancing guidelines.
These can either be done individually or with a friend or family member. An alternative list of equipment will be provided for every exercise should you not have access to gym equipment such as a barbell, resistance bands or dumbbells.
Running every Tuesday for eight weeks from 11th August 2020 @ 7.30pm, access to these sessions is completely FREE provided you sign up online prior to the first session and complete the relevant documentation.

Three of the sessions will be brought to you LIVE from Goldington Road; starting with the first session on 11th August 2020 then two weeks later on 25th August 2020 and the final session on 6th October 2020. These will all start at 19:30pm and a link will be sent to all participants ahead of time.
Over the course of the eight weeks, there will be a variety of exercises targeted towards all muscle groups to give the best results and to increase general fitness, offering a flavour of what a professional rugby player is likely to go through in a typical pre-season training regime.
We would like to thank team BEDS&LUTON who have provided the funding towards this eight-week programme through the Satellite Club project, a national initiative to promote physical activity opportunities for young people.
Places on this programme are limited so we advise to sign up now to avoid disappointment. Click here for all the details.
