Easter Holiday Provision Success
Our charity were pleased to ensure young people had access to holiday activities over the recent Easter holidays break with a range of activities taking place across the county over the past two weeks.
We delivered on the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) projects across three locations within both Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire; namely Sandy Sports Centre, Flitwick Football Centre and Bedford Academy.
All three projects consisted of a games and activities, all with a slight Easter twist; and ranged from engaging multisport activities, enrichment games and team building exercises as well as craft activities and inclusive and fun games.
These programmes were delivered completely FREE of charge for all children who receive income related free school meals and were kindly funded by Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedford Borough Council. Blues Foundation were again delighted to link up with both authorities and look forward to further projects in the future.
This particular Easter period began a new cycle of funding support from the UK Government’s Department of Education which is also set to support the upcoming Summer and Christmas holidays respectively. Blues Foundation are again excited to deliver these projects at times where children most need to remain active and fed during their school holidays.
Every young person was given a hot lunch each day alongside a food parcel and an activity pack to take home to enjoy further and ensure additional education is available outside of schooling time.
Speaking about the HAF project delivery, one parent said:
OUR DAUGHTER LOVED THE ACTIVITIES. YOUR STAFF DESERVE 10/10 FOR THE AMAZING WORK YOU HAVE PROVIDED TO THESE CHILDREN!
