Multi-Sport provision delivered across Central Beds
Blues Foundation have been providing a Multi-Sport provision throughout the past week, directly impacting on the lives of disadvantaged young people in Central Bedfordshire through the programme delivered at the nearby Flitwick Football Centre.
As of last Monday, outdoor recreational activity and team sports have begun to return as part of the government’s coronavirus roadmap; and Blues Foundation were keen to hit the ground running immediately through this four-day long programme, alongside a similar camp running at Sandy Sports Centre.
These camps follow a similar format to the Summer activation delivered by Blues Foundation and Bedford Blues Community; where a total of over 80 young people were taught in a safe and secure manner at various locations across the county.
It is well documented just how much exercise and physical activity can have a positive impact on the physical and mental health of those involved. Through our social media hashtag #SportForChange we are determined to continue having a positive impact on people’s lives within our community.
This recent camp in Flitwick was again in partnership with Bedford Blues Community, showcasing and delivering sports sessions in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.
Supported by Central Bedfordshire Council, this programme is aimed at supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds and provided an outlet for them to socialise, meet new people and be physically active.
Blues Foundation have had a positive impact on the lives of these young people, teaching important core values and life skills through rugby, football, cricket, golf, team building and much more.
As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, Blues Foundation are excited to re-launch previous projects and announce some exciting new ventures.
One project that is already set to resume is the England Rugby Families Fund Project which begins every Monday from 19th April. Hosted at Bedford Athletic from 6pm – 8pm, each session is completely FREE for all family members. Click here for all the information.
