Blues Foundation Half Term Food Donation
Blues Foundation were proud to support local charity Therapeutic and Specialist Services (TSS) as they provided holiday packs for 68 children across Bedford Borough for half-term week.
TSS, formerly known as Families First Bedfordshire, is a Bedford based charity specialising in supporting families and young people in deprived areas of the county and helping get access to the services they may require.
In addition, the overall aim of the charity is to provide an empowering, community focused service which enables families to thrive and have positive outcomes for todays and tomorrows generations.
As part of this aim, holiday packs were delivered countywide last week to ensure vulnerable young people had the things they required over half term – notably activity books, craft kits, games, snacks and drinks.
Blues Foundation were delighted to help this initiative with the donations of all the snacks for each pack; this included fresh fruit, cereal bars and crisps to ensure these children had what they needed during the break.
We were also able to provide our bespoke family activity cards, created in collaboration with leading Sport for Development charity, Street Games and the RFU. Click here to access these cards.
“Just wanted to say how grateful I am for the care packages, my daughter has been suffering with boredom during these lockdowns and especially now in the half term- money is tight and to be able to give her some different things to do and play with was such a relief. Thank you so much”
We are hopeful of announcing further collaborations with TSS in the future, especially when we are allowed to return to outdoor activity. Keep checking our website for any further announcements.
