Exciting partnership with University of Bedfordshire announced
The Blues Foundation is delighted to formally announce a partnership with the University of Bedfordshire which will see the two organisations working closely on delivering upcoming programmes and research projects.
This new partnership involves both the University’s School of Sports Science & Physical Activity (SSPA) and its Institute for Sport & Physical Activity Research (ISPAR), and will provide exciting opportunities for both parties. The Blues Foundation will specifically benefit from the University’s resources, facilities and research institute, which will focus on the impact of strategic projects and programmes within society as a whole.
As part of the agreement, students at the University will be afforded multiple upskilling and career development opportunities, through helping the Foundation in a voluntary capacity to deliver those programmes. This will allow students to carry out vital research for the Foundation and provide personal development alongside their studies.
In addition, the Blues Foundation will work collaboratively with the University’s Institute for Sport and Physical Activity Research to create a streamlined vision and delivery mandate in regards to health, well-being, inclusivity and educational programmes for the community.
This partnership will also offer the opportunity to pool resources where required and will provide a more formal working environment for the sharing of expertise and knowledge.
Launched earlier this week, the Tackle LIFE project will be one of the first projects for which the Blues Foundation and the University of Bedfordshire will work collaboratively together – and this will continue to grow in the future.
Blues Foundation Manager, Tom Harwood said: “We’re so pleased to be working with the University of Bedfordshire. The opportunity to benefit from the facilities on Polhill Avenue is amazing, and to have the support of researchers and student volunteers will hopefully both support their learning and enhance the quality of our programmes.”
Dr. Andrew Mitchell, Head of School for Sports Science & Physical Activity, said: “We are delighted to be cementing our partnership with the Blues Foundation. The relationship gives our students crucial work experience opportunities, it gives our researchers a platform to carry out impactful projects within the community and provides the Foundation with access to a wide range of staff expertise and resources across the university.”
