Confectionary donations to local charities

Blues Foundation were delighted to spread the joy of Christmas this past week with several donations of chocolate and confectionary to charities which they’ve partnered and worked with this year.

It’s been another difficult year for people up and down the country as a consequence of the ongoing COVID pandemic and the strain put on charities to continuously provide a service so demanded by those in the local community has at time become unbearable.

To try and ease this burden, particularly with the use of foodbanks increasing around the Festive holidays, Blues Foundation have tried to offer as much support as possible with a recent foodbank collection hosted at Goldington Road, home of Bedford Blues, collecting thousands of donations to distribute across the county. In order to supplement this collection, Blues Foundation themselves donated a whole host of confectionary items to participants of their two flagship activation programmes, Tackle LIFE and INSPIRE with Autism Bedfordshire before both of those projects concluded for the Christmas break.

Additionally, similar donations were given to Penrose – who Blues Foundation have provided with hot meals throughout 2021 alongside FACES and Emmaus Village in Carlton who were also benefactors of the Meals for the Vulnerable campaign.

Finally, a donation was made to Queens Park Community Centre via the Early Childhood Partnership.

Blues Foundation are determined to continue having as much impact in the local community as possible and look forward to similar donations and offers of help in 2022.
