Bedford Running Festival an enormous success
Blues Foundation would like to thank all 19 runners who took part in last weekend’s Bedford Running Festival to raise vital funds for our charity.
Over the three-day event, Blues Foundation had runners in two of the flagship races; the Twilight 10k and the Bedford Half Marathon. Elsewhere at Russell Park, there was an Outdoor Cinema, Comedy Festival and Taste Food Festival.
A total of 16 Blues Foundation runners competed in the Twilight 10k, composed of 13 members of the SHIFT Personal Training Club – Blues legend Sacha Harding’s business – alongside another former player, Simon Brading, current Blues employee Sophie Perry and James Woodward.
There was a distinct Bedford Blues feel in the Half Marathon as well with former player, Oli Curry and Media Manager, Ryan Robinson running alongside Peter McPartland in sweltering 28-degree heat on the Sunday.
The runs took the participants through some of the most notable local hotspots, including Danish Camp, Priory Country Park and The Embankment.
Over £2,200 has already been raised to go towards future projects, and you can still donate to commend everyone’s efforts in testing Bedford sunshine throughout the three days. To donate to the SHIFT team, click here or to donate general to our charity please click here.
