Train at Goldington Road for a Foodbank Donation
Blues Foundation are pleased to announce an exciting partnership with The Training Company ahead of our first ever Christmas Foodbank Collection tomorrow at Goldington Road (9am-2pm).
Christmas is a time for joy and celebration and Blues Foundation are determined to spread the message of goodwill this Festive Period by ensuring no one goes without in the local community.
We have been overwhelmed by the levels of support shown from loyal Bedfordians across social media with over 150 items guaranteed to be donated at Goldington Road this weekend. But we want this number to increase even higher to ensure our community doesn’t go hungry at Christmas.
That’s why Blues Foundation have teamed up with The Training Company to offer a fantastic opportunity – all you have to do is turn up to Goldington Road with an item for our Foodbank collection and you’ll be given a FREE space to a special Bootcamp training session on the Goldington Road training pitch (9:30am-10:15am.)
Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, Blues Foundation have championed promoting positive physical and mental health so this opportunity is the perfect chance to have a pre-Christmas workout, while having an impact on how others in our community will feel this Christmas.
Bedford Blues Second Row, Oli Curry, who runs The Training Company said: “I’m really happy to support Blues Foundation in their Bedford Foodbank collection. They are both great causes and at times like this, when people are struggling, you can’t be selfish and need to think about others to help them through the pandemic.
NGO charity The Trussell Trust anticipates the use of foodbanks is set to soar to record levels this year as a result of the financial strain caused by COVID19 and we are determined to make a substantial difference across Bedfordshire through the collection for Bedford Foodbank.
The Bedford Blues Rugby Ground will be open for donations between 9am – 2pm on Saturday 12th December. Supporters are asked to make their way to Goldington Road where there will be a one way system to drop off donations via car or walk in. Social distancing measures will be in operation according to Bedford Blues’ most recent risk management plan.
