Join our TRY January Challenge!

Get active and focus on positive wellbeing this January while supporting the fantastic work Blues Foundation does in the local community by attempting our TRY January challenge.

In 2019, 47% of people who made a New Year’s Resolution focused on improving general fitness or carrying out more exercise. In fact, the top three resolutions all focused on health and diet.

At unprecedented times such as these, it’s vitally important to focus on your own and your families physical and mental health. This January, we’re challenging you to take some time to remain active, while raising money to support the work we plan to do in the local community throughout 2021 and beyond.

The challenge is to complete 31km’s of exercise throughout the month of January. This can be done at once or spread out across the month – there’s 31 days in January so why not think about attempting a kilometre per day throughout?

Support the campaign now!

We are then asking participants to donate our charity so that we can roll out projects across Bedfordshire and continue impacting on people’s lives – through donations and your support, we’ve already impacted on the lives of more than 500 people in our first eight months as a charity.

Be as creative as possible when completing the challenge, perhaps you may like to run or cycle; or paddleboard or row! The challenge is ultimately about getting active at the start of 2021, so complete it to how you deem comfortable, maintaining positive lifestyle choices and focusing on promoting positive mental and physical health.

Examples of how you may like to take part:

  • How about following the Couch to 5K app and seeing some exciting and innovative ways to build up towards 31km?

  • Take the family for a run or walk in the park?

  • Try out a new activity or bring back an old one from yesteryear?

You can participate individually or as a family, or even with colleagues or friends if following all the latest government advice. The important thing is to attempt the challenge and start 2021 in the best way possible, supporting your local community as you do so.

How to raise money:

We are encouraging everyone who takes part to either:

  • Donate £1 for every km completed! Donations can be made by clicking here.

  • Encourage friends and family to donate towards your own individual Try January challenge! Donations can be made here, or by creating your own bespoke fundraising page. To set your page up CLICK HERE!

Blues Foundation encourages everyone to challenge a friend to also take part in TRY January, share the message of our charitable work and ultimately help those in the Bedfordshire community who benefit from our wellbeing projects.

Whether you’re planning to complete the challenge in one go, or spreading it out across the month, we want you to post photos of your progress and tag Blues Foundation! We’re on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and will use #TryJanaury throughout the month.

If you require any further information or would like to take your fundraising even further, please contact Tom Harwood on info@bluesfoundation.org.uk.

Start 2021 right, take part in TRY January and support Blues Foundation!
