HAF spaces available in Sandy this Christmas!
Following our announcement about a specialist rugby camp to be held in the build up to Christmas, Blues Foundation are extremely pleased to be teaming up with Central Bedfordshire to offer additional provision across the town at that time with a more multisport theme.
Blues Foundation have again teamed up with Central Bedfordshire Council to deliver a multisport programme this Festive season offering family support and activities for children aged 7 – 12.
In the Summers of 2021 and 2022, Blues Foundation and its partners successfully delivered a programme that was committed to support families that need additional support.
This delivery of Holiday and Food (HAF) projects is vitally important throughout the school holidays to ensure numerous young people not only have access to food and refreshment but also regular daily activity and exercise under the tutelage of our expert coaches.
UK-wide charity The Children’s Society estimate more than 850,000 families are struggling with the cost of food at the moment and struggling to manifest three hot meals a day. We vehemently believe no child should experience this, and are therefore extremely proud to again be offering this service at a time of increased struggle.
Once again, this provision wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Bedford Borough Council’s Holiday Activity and Food Fund, and we thank them for their continued support not just with this project but with some of our other key activation that has taken place in the town throughout the year.
These activities in the countdown to Christmas will take a similar format to those which have been taking place for the past 18 months and will be solely delivered at the Sandy Sports Centre (SG19 1BA) – another key delivery partner of ours who share much the same values.
- 19th – 22nd December, 19:45m-3pm each day
Book your child onto our provision now!
Throughout the week, Blues Foundation will be providing a variety of fun and engaging multisport activities, enrichment games and team building exercises, as well as craft activities and inclusive and fun games.
As with our previous editions of this type of activation, these programmes are completely FREE for all children who receive income related free school meals. As part of the programme, a hot lunch will be provided every day, enabling all children to have access to physical activity and food throughout the holiday period.
If you are interested in this provision, there are also some paid for places for those not eligible through the scheme. Through the support of Bedford Borough Council, these places are available at a reduced rate of £40. These can be booked by clicking here.
As a further part of the project, children will have the opportunity to create new friendships while in the supervision of trained and experienced staff. For each day, children will need to come prepared for physical activity. All activities will take place indoors.
