England Rugby Families Project

Blues Foundation and Bedford Blues Community are delighted to announce further details regarding the Families Fund project which begins next month.

The year long project, which focuses on families remaining active together, will launch on Monday 12th October at Bedford Athletic RFC, home of Bedford Junior Blues (MK41 8QA). Each session will last an hour and will run from 6pm – 7pm every Monday evening.

This project comes after Bedford was selected as one of 12 places by England Rugby to use rugby and multi-sport to support families get active and create regular positive habits around physical activity and mental wellbeing.  

Every session is completely FREE with expert coaching from the Bedford Blues Community team.

Each family that signs up and attends the first session will be entitled to a free t-shirt per family member. Sign your family up now!

This is just one of the many incentives you can receive for attending these sessions, with goodie bags also available from household retailers to reward attendance and progress throughout the project!

The England Rugby Families Project has been funded by England Rugby, Sport England and team BEDS&LUTON. England Rugby are currently on stage D of their Return to Community Rugby Roadmap, which allows groups of 20 to participate together in a socially distanced environment.

This project will fully adhere to the most up to date government and RFU guidelines regarding COVID-19. All families booked onto the programme will be immediately contacted with the new up to date restrictions if guidelines are changed.

Families can attend the sessions in the knowledge that all protocols and measures will be stringently followed to keep participants and coaches safe. Book early to secure your family’s space.

This project is aimed at families who want to be active together, who might not all do as much exercise as they want to. These weekly sessions can help you get fit and healthy throughout the year. You don’t always have to attend every week, but the more times you can attend the better.
